Fat transfer for males faces involves creating a more masculine square face. As the male face ages, fat is lost from the lateral facial region both over the upper outer but as well as over the lower outer facial region. Following the loss of lateral facial volume, the redundant skin bunches medially over the central face resulting in a more rounded facial appearance. This appearance makes the male face more feminized.

The goal of fat transfer for male faces requires replacement of volume along the upper and lower lateral cheek regions. The outer upper region involves grafting along the lateral cheek and temple region. This maneuver will not only take out the slack of the central cheek but also improve the appearance of the eyes by eliminating skin redundancy of the lower eyelids.

The lower lateral region involves replacing fat along the most posterior aspect of the jawline. This last maneuver will strengthen the look of the jaw while creating a more desirable square appearance.

Fat volumes for transfer for male faces are less voluminous than the female face. On average, fat volumes for the male are on the order of 10 to 15cc. This is because male faces must remain chiseled and not appear overfilled. The goal of fat transfer for the male face is to replace volume to accentuate the squared face but without making it appear chubby!

During your initial consultation, SurgiSculpt will evaluate your face and determine volumes and locations of fat transfer that will be needed to achieve your aesthetic needs. Finally, males desire procedures that avoid general anesthesia which requires prolonged recovery times. Fortunately, fat transfer for male faces can be done under local anesthesia thus accommodating male patient priorities.

Specializing in facial anatomy and male aesthetics, SurgiSculpt is an expert, board-certified plastic surgeon located in Newport Beach, CA who can help male patients. Here at SurgiSculpt, we offer virtual and in house consultations to accommodate male patients from around the country.
